Safety Rules
Clay Ground Safety Rules
- Treat every gun as LOADED even if you are certain it is not.
- Never point a gun at anyone or anything except when about to fire at a target.
- No guns to be loaded unless you are in the stand.
- Never for any reason turn from facing the targets whilst your gun is loaded.
- Cartridges and empty cases MUST be removed from your gun before turning away from the stands, and placed in the bins provided.
- All guns to be carried sleeved, or broken. Semi-Autos, if not sleeved, must display a safety flag to show to all that the breech is empty.
- When carrying a gun, do so in such a way that you can control the direction of the muzzle, even if you stumble.
- Never leave your gun unattended unless you have first made sure it is unloaded
- Ear protection must be worn. It is also recommended that eye protection is worn.
- Never mix cartridge sizes (Bore / Gauge) when attending our event.
General Club Rules
- By ‘Signing in’, you have accepted and will abide by the SAFETY RULES.
- No shot larger than No. 7
- Fibre wad ammunition is preferred but not mandatory.
- Please keep to the roped paths.
- DO NOT attempt to clear or re-fill traps; CALL a member of the ground staff for assistance.
- The fireing of anything other than the clay targets is forbidden during the event.
- A safety officer will have been present to review the setup.
