Clay Ground Safety Rules

  1. Treat every gun as LOADED even if you are certain it is not.
  2. Never point a gun at anyone or anything except when about to fire at a target.
  3. No guns to be loaded unless you are in the stand.
  4. Never for any reason turn from facing the targets whilst your gun is loaded.
  5. Cartridges and empty cases MUST be removed from your gun before turning away from the stands, and placed in the bins provided.
  6. All guns to be carried sleeved, or broken. Semi-Autos, if not sleeved, must display a safety flag to show to all that the breech is empty.
  7. When carrying a gun, do so in such a way that you can control the direction of the muzzle, even if you stumble.
  8. Never leave your gun unattended unless you have first made sure it is unloaded
  9. Ear protection must be worn. It is also recommended that eye protection is worn.
  10. Never mix cartridge sizes (Bore / Gauge) when attending our event.

General Club Rules

  1. By ‘Signing in’, you have accepted and will abide by the SAFETY RULES.
  2. No shot larger than No. 7
  3. Fibre wad ammunition is preferred but not mandatory.
  4. Please keep to the roped paths.
  5. DO NOT attempt to clear or re-fill traps; CALL a member of the ground staff for assistance.
  6. The fireing of anything other than the clay targets is forbidden during the event.
  7. A safety officer will have been present to review the setup.
